December 2019: The Angel Tree is a social work initiative that was taken up by some of our Class 9 students. Our school students donated useful items like stationery, personal needs (soap, toothbrushes), books and toys for poor children. The Class 9 students then visited the Birds of the Air Home for the destitute and gifted the donated items. Our students sang Christmas Carols, distributed cake and biscuits for the residents and gifts for the children. It was truly a wonderful experience for all of us and we would like to express gratitude to our school Principal, Rev. Fr. Chinnappa, for wholeheartedly encouraging this initiative. A huge thank you to students and parents who generously donated towards the Angel Tree and the teachers for their kind support and encouragement. Congratulations to all the students who helped organize this event. We are proud of your leadership skills, commitment and generosity of spirit. Most of all to Fr. Thomas for his dedicated and selfless work in providing a safe haven for destitute women and children at Birds of the Air. He truly has been a huge inspiration for all of us.
Spending time with a child with spastic cerebral palsy One of our Class 9 students donated the cake. A Primary Section student donated a piggy bank filled with coins Fr. Thomas describes how Birds of the Air was founded when a baby boy without arms and legs was rescued from a garbage heap.
