Don Bosco School Entrepreneurship Club
The Don Bosco School Entrepreneurship Club was established in 2023 to provide students of Classes 11 and 12, particularly those studying Business and Economics, with opportunities to take their learning beyond the classroom. The club aims to help students understand how business concepts work in the real world by giving them practical experiences in planning, organizing, decision-making, teamwork, communication and leadership.
Through various activities and initiatives, students get an opportunity to put their classroom knowledge into practice. They learn to identify opportunities, develop ideas, prepare budgets, manage resources, promote events and work together to achieve common goals. These experiences help students appreciate the creativity, responsibility and perseverance required to turn an idea into a successful venture.
An important aspect of the club’s work is its involvement in charity fundraisers and school events. Students take an active role in planning and organizing the Bosco FundFair each year which encourages learning valuable lessons about marketing, finance, accounting, customer interaction, event management and problem-solving. At the same time, their efforts help them develop a spirit of social responsibility and understand that entrepreneurship can be a powerful means of creating positive change in society when the funds raised are donated to local community charity organizations.
The Entrepreneurship Club seeks to nurture young, confident and socially responsible entrepreneurs who are willing to take initiative, learn from experience and respond creatively to challenges. By combining academic knowledge with hands-on experience, the club prepares students not only for higher studies and future careers but also to become enterprising individuals who can make a meaningful contribution to society.

Bosco Fund Fair 2024

October 19, 2024: Our second fund raiser, entitled Bosco FundFair, was another resounding success. The Entrepreneurship Club worked well as a team to organize this major and eagerly anticipated event in our school. This year the Scouts and Guides volunteered to help. Class 6 students generously donated all their food items. Class 6 students also added an environmental awareness stall which was sincerely appreciated.

Social Outreach

The leaders of the Entrepreneurship Club along with the Class 6 students who helped organize the fund raiser in our school, visited Shanthi Nilayam Home for HIV positive youth, to donate the funds they had raised. They also gifted some stationery items. In addition, they donated funds to an orphanage for girls run by the Sisters of Charity. We are very proud of our students for their dedicated service and contribution to the community in need.

Thank you to Rev. Fr. Joseph Vanga for organizing this visit.
Event Management

The Entrepreneurship Club of Don Bosco School helps in organizing major school programs which adds to their experience of managing events. This practical experience helps them understand how ideas are transformed into successful events while building confidence, initiative and a strong sense of responsibility. It also gives students a glimpse into the real-world demands of event management and entrepreneurship. Through organizing programs, coordinating teams, managing resources, handling responsibilities and working within deadlines, students develop essential skills such as leadership, communication, teamwork, problem-solving and time management.
Academic Year 2023-2024

Founded in 2023, Don Bosco’s Entrepreneurship Club offers our Senior Secondary School Classes 11 & 12 Business students the opportunity to develop their entrepreneurial skills. Students are actively engaged in organizing events to gain practical work experience.
The club successfully executed a number of events in our school last year, including a fund-raiser to sponsor the education of 3 Junior College students from a home for HIV positive children and “Mind Games,” an event which encouraged students to put down their cell phones and engage in mentally and physically demanding activities.

Mind Games
March 26, 2024: Once again our young and enterprising 5th Graders came up with a brilliant idea of organizing Mind Games – to encourage students to put down their cell phones and take up physical and mentally challenging activities. The Entrepreneurship Club then executed their vision to perfection with a well organized event which was truly enjoyed and appreciated by everyone, with parents also enthusiastically participating in the Mind Games.

Thank you to Jhansi and Shloka our amazing Class 5 students who planned and executed Mind Games 2024 along with the leadership and guidance of the Entrepreneurship Club who brought their vision to life. Thank you to our school Principal and our grateful thanks to Rev. Fr. Joseph Vanga who once again generously supported this event by sponsoring posters / banners, innovative board games and gifts for the winners.
Fund Raiser 2023
November 4, 2023: Our very first fund raiser! What began as an idea of three Class 5 extremely enterprising students to sell samosas in school to raise funds for the poor grew into a fair ably supported and well executed by our first batch of Entrepreneurship Club Members. The Entrepreneurship Club organized stalls selling food, gifts and stationery items with sales far exceeding our expectations. As you can see in the photographs below the team not only did an excellent job but also enjoyed what they were doing.

The funds raised were donated to Shanthi Nilayam Home for Boys impacted by HIV and was used to pay a semester’s fees for 3 junior college students from the home. The Entrepreneurship Club 2023 also donated stationery items to Don Bosco Evening School for underprivileged children.

Thank you to our wonderful 5th graders, the Entrepreneurship Club, our school Principal and especially Rev. Father Joseph Vanga who helped make this event possible with his thoughtful and generous support.
